If you ask someone what a professional Sports Trader does, most people wouldn’t know how to answer. It’s still an unknown identity, surrounded by false myths and often confused with sports betting.
For this reason, it was an honor for me to share my story and my profession on StoryTime on Radio Canale Italia, a program that tells the stories of professionals all over Italy.
I had the privilege of talking about my professional history, a journey that started when I was 19, when I began to cultivate my passion for sports and for investing. It was a path that led me to transform a dream into a real profession—or rather, into a lifestyle.
The interview was an opportunity to bring clarity to what sports trading truly is and how it radically differs from betting.
Professional Sports Trader: A Lifestyle
As I explained, it’s about the buying and selling of odds related to sporting events, an activity much more similar to the dynamics of the stock market than to gambling.
At one point in my life, I had to make a difficult choice: I realized that to make this dream a reality, I had to emigrate. A “taboo” that I wanted to challenge, proving that growth is found outside of your own borders, and that the world is our true playground.
I found a “wonderful Slovenia” that allowed me to transform my individual experience into a bigger entrepreneurial project, Sport Trading Life.
“Don’t stop at the limitation of your own enclosure, because today more than ever looking at the world is more important than looking under your own house.”
The message I wanted to convey is precisely this: don’t let limits stop you, even if they are mental. If your passion can’t become a job “in your hometown,” take a train and leave.
This is true freedom and true growth.
I want to thank the authors of StoryTime again for the opportunity and for the welcoming atmosphere that allowed me to tell the most authentic version of myself.
